This section describes how to edit microservice instance weight.

The weight of a microservice instance is used to determine the traffic distribution for that instance. Traffic sent to the microservice will be allocated to its instances based on their respective weights.

Prerequisites

  • The KubeSphere Spring Cloud extension must be installed and enabled on the KubeSphere platform.

  • You need to join a project and have the Spring Cloud Microservice Management permission in the project. For more information, see Project Members and Project Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Spring Cloud Microservice Management permissions and enter your workspace.

  2. Click  Spring Cloud > Microservices in the left navigation pane.

  3. Select a project from the drop-down list in the upper left corner of the page.

  4. On the right side of the microservice, click plus-square to open the microservice instance list.

  5. Click more on the right side of the microservice instance you want to operate on, then select Edit Weight from the dropdown list.

  6. In the Edit Weight dialog box, set the weight for the microservice instance, then click OK.
