This section describes how to create an application template.

Prerequisites

  • You need to join a workspace and have the Application/Application Version/Application Instance Creation permission in the workspace. For more information, see Workspace Members and Workspace Roles.

  • The KubeSphere App Store Management extension must be installed and enabled on the KubeSphere platform.

  • A Helm Chart archive in .tar.gz or .tgz format, or the application’s YAML file(s) must be prepared. You can download the Nginx Helm Chart for testing. For more information, please refer to the Helm official documentation.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Application/Application Version/Application Instance Creation permissions and enter your workspace.

  2. Click Application Management > Application Template in the left navigation pane.

  3. Click Create on the page.

  4. In the Create Application dialog box, click Upload Helm Chart and select the locally stored Helm Chart archive in .tar.gz or .tgz format.

    Alternatively, click Create yaml Application, enter the application name and version number, and use YAML file(s) to create the application.

    Note

    Click upload-dark to upload YAML file(s) from your local machine.

    Click download-dark to download the YAML file(s) to your local machine.

  5. Click OK.

    Once the application template is created, it will appear in the application template list.
