Composed Apps
In the KubeSphere platform, an application specifically refers to a business program composed of one or more workloads, services, Ingresses, and other resources. Based on the creation method, applications on the KubeSphere platform are categorized into the following two types:
-
Template-based applications: Applications created using existing application templates. The application templates used for creation can be templates uploaded to a workspace, templates published to the App Store, or templates from third-party application repositories.
-
Composed apps: Applications created by users manually orchestrating workloads, services, Ingresses, and other resources.
This section describes how to manage composed apps. For more information about template-based apps, refer to Apps.
| Note |
|---|
When creating a composed app, if you need to enable application governance to use traffic monitoring, canary release, and link tracing features, you need to install the "KubeSphere Service Mesh" extension. |
| Attention |
|---|
After installing the "KubeSphere Service Mesh" extension, the "Application Workloads > Composed App" menu in the workspace will no longer be displayed, but you can continue to manage the created composed apps using this extension. For more information, refer to KubeSphere Service Mesh. |
