This section describes how to view the workspace role list.

Each workspace role contains specific workspace management or viewing permissions. You can grant roles containing specific permissions to workspace members to control their permissions within the workspace.

Prerequisites

You need to join a workspace and have the Role Viewing permission in the workspace. For more information, see Workspace Members and Workspace Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Role Viewing permissions and enter your workspace.

  2. Click Workspace Settings > Workspace Roles in the left navigation pane.

    The KubeSphere platform provides the following built-in workspace roles:

    Role Description

    workspace-admin

    Workspace administrator, has full permissions within the workspace.

    workspace-self-provisioner

    Workspace self-provisioner, can create projects and view workspace settings within the workspace, and has management permissions for projects they create.

    workspace-viewer

    Workspace viewer, can view all resources within the workspace.

    workspace-regular

    Workspace regular user, only has permission to view workspace settings within the workspace. This role is typically granted to project members who do not require other workspace permissions.
