This section describes how to invite users to a workspace.

Prerequisites

  • A user has been created in Users and Roles Management.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Member Management permissions and enter your workspace.

  2. Click Workspace Settings > Workspace Members in the left navigation pane.

  3. Click Invite on the right side of the page.

  4. In the Invite Member dialog box, click add-dark on the right side of the user you want to invite, select the user’s role in the workspace from the dropdown list, and then click OK.

    The KubeSphere platform provides the following built-in workspace roles:

    Role Description

    workspace-admin

    Workspace administrator, has full permissions within the workspace.

    workspace-self-provisioner

    Workspace self-provisioner, can create projects and view workspace settings within the workspace, and has management permissions for projects they create.

    workspace-viewer

    Workspace viewer, can view all resources within the workspace.

    workspace-regular

    Workspace regular user, only has permission to view workspace settings within the workspace. This role is typically granted to project members who do not require other workspace permissions.

    The invited user will appear in the workspace member list after being successfully invited.
