This section describes how to modify the roles of cluster members.

Prerequisites

You need to join a cluster and have the Member Management permission in the cluster. For more information, see Cluster Members and Cluster Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Member Management permissions and enter your cluster.

  2. Click Cluster Settings > Cluster Members in the left navigation pane.

  3. To the right of the cluster member you want to edit, click more, and then select Modify Role.

  4. In the Modify Role dialog box, set the role for the cluster member, and then click OK.

    The KubeSphere platform provides the following built-in cluster roles:

    Role Description

    cluster-admin

    Cluster administrator, has all permissions within the cluster except for creating and deleting the cluster.

    cluster-viewer

    Cluster viewer, has view permissions for all resources within the cluster.
