This section describes how to invite users to a cluster.

Prerequisites

  • You need to join a cluster and have the Member Management permission in the cluster. For more information, see Cluster Members and Cluster Roles.

  • A user has been created in User and Role Management.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Member Management permissions and enter your cluster.

  2. Click Cluster Settings > Cluster Members in the left navigation pane.

  3. Click Invite on the right side of the page.

  4. In the Invite Member dialog box, click add-dark on the right side of the user you want to invite, select the user’s role in the cluster from the drop-down list, and then click OK.

    The KubeSphere platform provides the following built-in cluster roles:

    Role Description

    cluster-admin

    Cluster administrator, has all permissions within the cluster except for creating and deleting the cluster.

    cluster-viewer

    Cluster viewer, has view permissions for all resources within the cluster.

    The invited user will appear in the cluster member list after being invited to the cluster.
