Expand a Persistent Volume Claim
This section describes how to expand the volume capacity of a PersistentVolumeClaim. The capacity of the bound PersistentVolume will also be expanded accordingly.
Prerequisites
-
You need to join a cluster and have the Persistent Volume Claim Management permission in the cluster. For more information, see Cluster Members and Cluster Roles.
-
Ensure that the system has created a persistent volume for the persistent volume claim.
-
The expansion operation is ultimately performed by the backend storage system. Ensure that the backend storage system supports volume expansion and that the storage class associated with the persistent volume claim has the volume expansion feature enabled. For more information, refer to Enable and Disable Volume Operations.
Steps
-
Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Persistent Volume Claim Management permissions and enter your cluster.
-
Click Storage > Persistent Volume Claims in the left navigation pane.
-
In the Persistent Volume Claims list, click the name of a Persistent Volume Claim to open its details page.
-
On the Persistent Volume Claim details page, click Operation > Expand.
-
In the Expand Volume dialog box, set the volume capacity, and then click OK.
Warning The volume capacity can only be increased, not decreased.
