This section describes how to clone a PersistentVolumeClaim.

After a PersistentVolumeClaim and a PersistentVolume are created, you can create identical copies for the PersistentVolumeClaim and the PersistentVolume respectively by cloning.

Prerequisites

  • You need to join a cluster and have the Persistent Volume Claim Management permission in the cluster. For more information, see Cluster Members and Cluster Roles.

  • Ensure that the system has created a persistent volume for the persistent volume claim.

  • The clone operation is ultimately performed by the backend storage system. Ensure that your backend storage system supports volume cloning and that the storage class associated with the Persistent Volume Claim has the volume cloning feature enabled. For more information, refer to Enable and Disable Volume Operations.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has Persistent Volume Claim Management permissions and enter your cluster.

  2. Click Storage > Persistent Volume Claims in the left navigation pane.

  3. In the Persistent Volume Claims list, click the name of a Persistent Volume Claim to open its details page.

  4. On the Persistent Volume Claim details page, click Operation > Clone.

  5. In the Clone Volume dialog box, set the name for the new Persistent Volume Claim, and then click OK.

The system will create identical replicas for the Persistent Volume Claim and its corresponding Persistent Volume.
