This section describes how to edit platform role information.

You can edit the alias and description of platform roles created by users. KubeSphere does not support editing built-in platform roles, nor does it support editing the names of platform roles.

Prerequisites

You need to have the Role Management permission on the KubeSphere platform. For more information, please refer to Users and Platform Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console as a user with Role Management permissions.

  2. Click Users and Role Management.

  3. In the left navigation pane, select Platform Roles.

  4. To the right of the platform role you want to operate on, click more, then select Edit Information from the dropdown list.

  5. In the Edit Information dialog box, set the alias and description for the platform role, then click OK.

    Parameter Description

    Alias

    The alias of the platform role. Aliases for different roles can be the same.

    Description

    The description information of the platform role. The description can contain any characters, with a maximum length of 256 characters.
